Day 1"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven". (Eccl. 3:1)
Scripture Reading: Ecclesiastes 3
Christine Lawin, a folk singer has a song "The Moment Slipped Away." It tells of people who wanted to speak words of encouragement to another, but they didn't take the opportunity when they had it to speak and the moment slipped away.
The Bible also tells us that we are to take the opportunity to speak or do when the opportunity arises, for the moment may slip away. Proverbs 3:27 says, “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of they hand to do it." That good may be our deeds or our speech. How many times at the side of a grave, an individual has wished that they had taken time to visit, to encourage or to do, but the time was now gone forever. As it has been said, "We need to give our flowers now- not at the funeral. The moment may slip away. I remember a young man telling me one time concerning his wife, "I told her once I loved her, and if that changes, I'll tell her." Oh we must not let the moments slip away in telling others what we feel and think.
The clock of life is wound but once, And no man has the power
To say just when the hands will stop; At late, or early hour
Now is the only time we own
To do His precious will,
Do not wait until tomorrow, For the clock may then be still,
